An editorial grid with room to breathe.
How few layout rules can keep a family of pages coherent without making every page identical?
The question
Editorial content changes in length and tone. A robust design should hold together when a headline wraps, an image is absent or a long paragraph needs more space. We began with a modest column grid and a restrained typographic scale.

Decisions, not decorations
Each region has a defined purpose: an orientation label, an argument, supporting detail or visual evidence. Spacing connects content that belongs together and separates information that requires a different reading mode.
The study avoids relying on colour alone for meaning. Hierarchy remains visible in grayscale, and the content order still makes sense on a narrow screen.
What remains open
Before production use, the system would need real editorial material, accessibility review and observation with readers. The concept is published as an exploration, not as evidence of measured improvements.
